Position: Senior Financial Reporting and Planning Specialist
Department: Group Financial Reporting & FP&A
As the Senior Financial Reporting and Planning Specialist, you will play a crucial role in shaping the organisation’s financial strategy.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with finance and operations teams to prepare accurate financial reports for multiple entities/branches, including P&L commentary.
- Providing perceptive metrics and insights into the company's financial performance.
- Monitoring and tracing financial performance against targets, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
- Assisting the Head of Group FR/FP&A in creating annual budgets and forecasts, utilizing predictive planning and multi-scenario analysis.
- Coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to pricing guidelines for contracts/projects.
- Fostering a culture of continuous performance awareness, identifying risks and opportunities related to performance expectations.
- Conducting comprehensive financial analysis, recognizing trends, and offering actionable recommendations for strategic decision-making.
- Performing profitability reviews and analysis for specific contracts/projects, including variance analysis and performance driver commentary.
- Developing financial models and scenario analyses to support business case evaluations.
- Evaluating new initiatives, improvements, and cost-saving opportunities through ad-hoc financial analysis.
- Ensuring timely completion of all financial reporting deadlines, both internal and external.
- Promoting a cash-focused culture within the business.
- Maintaining data integrity and reliability for financial forecasts and management reporting through sound accounting processes.
- Identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities across the organization.
- Responding proactively to financial performance issues and facilitating timely solutions.
- 8+ years of experience in Accounting/Finance within a business/division.
- Proven expertise in financial reporting, planning, and financial & business analysis roles.
- Experience with ERP systems and month-end processing with associated variance analysis.
- Strong understanding of business operations and commercial acumen.
- Strategic mindset with critical thinking and innovative problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Tertiary qualification in accounting or commerce (essential).
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA / CA) is desirable.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Intermediate-Advanced skills in Microsoft Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of standard accounting/finance software packages.
- Strong financial management aptitude and commercial awareness.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Team-oriented with excellent communication skills.
- Professionalism and confidence in the client and external party interactions.
- Effective prioritization skills and responsiveness to questions.
- Ability to present numerical data effectively.
