Victoria’s Regional Rail projects will continue to progress strong in the 2019 Construction year with Significant investment across the broad construction market the Regional package sits at $1.75 billion. This investment will give Victoria and outer Victorians access to a Metro style train infrastructure and create over 1000 construction jobs, Significant Civil Construction Recruitment needs, support contractors and give an Great boost to the manufacturing and transport industries which have been tipped to decrease by 5% by 2025.

Ballarat Line Upgrade – Completed by 2019
With the project well under way, the Ballarat Line upgrade will provide better rail infrastructure to the western suburbs of Melbourne including, Bacchus Marsh, Melton, Ballarat and Ballan. A consortium which includes Coleman Rail, SMEC and Lendlease are completing works and providing an expected 400 Civil Construction Recruitment Jobs to the Construction industry
Gippsland Line Upgrade – Completed by 2022
Rail duplication and major upgrades between Traralgon and Pakenham including duplication of track between Bunyip and Longwarry, further construction on the $530 million work includes a new bridge construction located across Avon River within Stafford, Victoria. This project is tipped to create 400 new Civil Construction Recruitment jobs within the construction industry
Warrnambool Line Upgrade – Completed by 2020
A newly built crossing Loop, level crossing construction, track upgrades upgraded track and re-evaluation and upgrades of signalling for VLocity trains which are the VLocity 160, which is a diesel multiple unit train built by Bombardier.
Geelong Line Upgrade – Completed by 2021 The Geelong line is receiving an overall $160 million worth in works including a new pedestrian pass and second station platform for the Wourn ponds station.
Bendigo and Echuca Line Upgrade – Completed 2021 the project is expected to increase the occurrence of trains both ways to Echuca, between Bendigo and Kangaroo Flat Eaglehawk to Bendigo and Epsom to Bendigo. Giving country Victoria a Metro style train system. Project Value of this project is tipped at $91 Million.
North East Corridor Upgrade – Station upgrades Rail track enhancements will provide new services to Albury on the North East line with the Project work $235 million the and on the North East Line, paving the way for new standard gauge train services to Albury.
Shepparton Corridor Upgrade – A two stage project Works will include an upgrade of the existing Shepperton Station, crossing loop within the area of Murchison East, extra bus services, A VLocity Depot to station new trains, signalling works and track upgrades, an extension to the current platform at Shepperton station, Murchison East, Mooroopna and Nagambie. This project is valued at $356 million.
